Business Isn’t the Enemy — Portland, Oregon Needs to Hear This

When people talk about Portland, Oregon’s future, the conversation often focuses on government policies and public spending. But according to Jose Cienfuegos, president of the Revitalize Portland Coalition, another part of the conversation deserves just as much attention: creating a city where businesses want to invest.

In this conversation, David Moore, CEO of Equity Advantage, sits down with Cienfuegos to discuss why the coalition’s roughly 10,000 members and 25 companies are committed to seeing Portland, Multnomah County, and Oregon thrive. They explore why outside investment, more 1031 Exchanges, companies choosing to locate in the region, and even more cranes on the skyline all point to the same thing: a growing local economy.

As Cienfuegos puts it, “Business is not a bad word. It’s a partner.” He believes that when businesses are thriving, Portland thrives right alongside them.
